READ NOWAmerican rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to four years in prison and fined $500,000 after being found guilty of charges linked to the transportation of individuals for prostitution.
The verdict was delivered this week by a U.S. judge, following a trial in which prosecutors had sought an 11-year sentence. The case was built on multiple accusations from women, including his former partner, Cassie Ventura, who alleged she had been coerced and mistreated. A video presented in court showed Combs assaulting her in a hotel hallway, further strengthening the prosecution’s case.
During the proceedings, Combs appeared alongside his six children. The artist addressed the court, portraying himself as a family man committed to his children and to humanitarian causes he has supported through various charity projects. He told the court he was a “renewed man” and expressed remorse.
Prosecutors argued that the sentence should reflect the seriousness of the crimes, while the defense asked for leniency. Ultimately, the judge imposed four years in prison, well below the maximum request, but coupled it with a significant financial penalty.
