Los Angeles police have arrested singer David Anthony Burke (D4vd) this afternoon in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla in Hollywood in September, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Authorities say the department’s Robbery-Homicide Division is handling the case as a homicide investigation.

LAPD confirmed that the artist, identified as the registered owner of the vehicle where the remains were found, was taken into custody and is being held without bail. Officials have not publicly detailed the specific charges beyond the ongoing murder investigation.

According to earlier LAPD statements, investigators determined at the time of discovery that Hernandez may have been deceased for several weeks before her body was located. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet confirmed the official cause and manner of death, and the scope of any potential criminal responsibility has remained under review.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have not released additional information regarding motive or further evidentiary findings. LAPD has stated that detectives continue to examine all aspects of the case as it develops.

D4vd, 21, had recently expanded his presence in both the music and digital entertainment spaces with two of his latest releases.
