Diego Luna was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Drama for his role in Andor, but the award went to Noah Wyle for The Pitt, which also won Best Television Series – Drama.
Guillermo del Toro, meanwhile had five nomination, suffered a double defeat with Frankenstein, losing in both Best Director – Motion Picture and Best Screenplay – Motion Picture, categories that were claimed by Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another, one of the most awarded films of the night.
Among the evening’s top winners were Hamnet for Best Motion Picture – Drama, KPop Demon Hunters for Best Motion Picture – Animated, The Secret Agent for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language (Brazil), and Sinners, which earned the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award, rounding out a night that celebrated both established auteurs and standout new productions.
